Will It Be Harder to Immigrate Now?

Many  people are asking "will things change?" and "will it be harder to immigrate?"

Possibly. For some people.

The Jan. 25, 2017 Executive Order gave clear instructions to all agencies "to employ all lawful means to ensure the faithful execution of the immigration laws of the United States against all removable aliens." For anyone else (those with valid visas or valid entry) things are likely to stay as is. It is too soon to tell for certain, but nothing published thus far indicates any significant departure from previous expectations. Remember, an Executive Order exists only within the context of existing law, and it is only Congress that creates laws.

The full text of the Jan. 25 order is attached.
